En otras reseñas he tocado el tema del "boom" de mariscos y pescados en diferentes variantes y presentaciones que se vive en Monterrey, destacando la cocina proveniente del Pacífico, específicamente de Baja California. Es en este rubro donde destaca Black Market.

 

Black Market es el resultado de emprendedores del Noroeste mexicano, asentados hoy en San Pedro Garza García. Llegar al lugar puede ser un poco confuso, sobre todo la primera vez, ya que está ubicado en una plaza comercial en Rio Amazonas -al lado del Café Gallet-, ocupando un pequeño local de la planta baja en la esquina inferior, en el mismo lugar donde alguna vez estuvo La Leche, famoso restaurante gourmet de Puerto Vallarta que no corrió con mucho éxito por estos rumbos. Por la misma naturaleza de la infraestructura de la plaza comercial se cuenta con un buen estacionamiento. 

 

Al entrar al lugar se percibe una mezcla en la decoración de detalles informales con ciertas características propias del enfoque del lugar, por ejemplo, las mesas de la barra son de piedra. Aunque hay pantallas de video éstas no tienen volúmen, salvo en eventos deportivos importantes, en lugar de esto se puede escuchar una buena mezcla de música. El lugar cuenta con una pequeña terraza de tres mesas que para épocas de calor es muy recomendable. 

 

Una vez instalados recibimos la carta, la cuál es pequeña, más no limitada en opciones y sabores. Destacan los ceviches, sashimis y aguachiles para un buen comienzo, seguidos de algunos tacos y tostadas, así como de pescados frescos. En cuanto a bebidas cuentan con cervezas, cocteles y vinos, donde estos dos últimos son más disfrutables para una cena que una comida. Es importante destacar que aunque el lugar no estaba lleno el tiempo de servicio no es lo mejor, es algo lento y hace que en cierta forma se pierda un poco el ritmo de la comida.

 

En nuestro caso empezamos por un sashimi de atún, el cuál es muy diferente a otras versiones de lugares similares, destacaba la frescura del plato realzada con frutas como kiwi y melón que son parte del mismo. Otro de mis acompañantes pidió un aguachile, muy bien condimentado, donde la garra de león y el camarón estaban extremadamente suaves y nada "chiclosos". Los precios de estos platos están muy en la línea de otras ofertas similares de la ciudad con rangos cercanos a los 150 pesos.

 

Para continuar uno de mis acompañantes ordenó unos shark and chips, que no es otra cosa que una versión del tradicional fish and chips inglés. El plato de muy buen sabor gracias al rebozado de cerveza que utilizan tiene dos inconvenientes: es servido en una copa, por lo que es un tanto dificil alternar ambos componentes ya que primero hay que comer casi todo el pescado para acceder a las papas; por otro lado, si no se come rápidamente las papas por el mismo calor empiezan a perder su consistencia. En mi caso y el de otro de mis acompañantes pedimos tostadas de ceviche de pez escolar y ceviche de pulpo y camarón. Todas estuvieron servidas en buenas proporciones y con sabores muy identificables tanto del pescado y mariscos como de los complementos como la zanahoria y el pico de gallo. Continuamos con unos tacos, donde a pesar de haber opciones como el clásico gobernador (aquí llamado "corrputor") notamos que la presentación y sabor de casi todos los tacos es muy similar, en algunos casos destacando más el sabor de otros ingredientes como el chorizo o tocino que el del propio marisco.

 

Para cerrar nos ofrecieron un creme bruleé de yierbabuena, con gran consistencia, pero donde el sabor de la especie prácticamente no se nota.

 

Indudablemente Black Market es una buena alternativa para "acercarse" más a la cocina bajacaliforniana a un buen precio.

La vdd a mi me toco un servicio excelente, les sugiero tomar en cuenta las sugerencias de host, q nos armo un menu acorde a nuestras preferencias y nos olvidamos de la carta, recomiendo el tiradito y las tapas de mar...
Lo que si no me gusto fue las mesas que tienen a fuera con la tele enorme rompe con el estilo acogedor del rest en la parte de adentro no sigue con el diseño y no se antoja para nada...
